Protest

Knees have been protesting. I'm not sure if its solely the running that has aggrevated them or something else.
My left knee in particular feels tight all over.
So taking a break from running while i contibue dog walks and attemot to hit 10000+ steps each day. Also continuing the 30 day fitness challenge for legs- on medium level 1.
Just keep moving.

Shortened my # of intervals, but increased speed to 5mph
Went for 31min 5 sec and ran 2.3 miles.
I'll take it!

What a difference a day makes

I listened to my body and took an extra rest day yesterday. After battling a stomache bug and a 3 day headache, i was ready to get back at it.
Tried intervals of 3 min running at 4.7 mph and 1.15 min walking at 3.6 mph
It seems to agreed with me as I was able to complete 5k, 3.1 m in 42:41.
My best time since I started running again.

Intervals

Still trying to figure out intervals & what I like/works best.

Did 2 min running between 4.5-4.7 mph with 1 min walking at 3.6 mph

While the running was easier the 1 min recovery was tough.

Got it done

Didn't want to do it, but kicked my sorry butt down to the treadmill & got it done.

Stuck

So I am continuing to run, see my tracker on the right? >
The mileage is low, and I'm kind of stuck on week 5 of c25K.
When the run for 20 minutes showed up on week 5 d2, I laughed.

I ran intervals instead.
I am working on embracing run/walk intervals.
Right now I am trying 4 min running at 4.5 mph and 1.5 min walking at 3.6 mph

It seems to be working.
I tweaked my knee at some point this past week- walking the dog or something- so when I transition from my warm up walk to my first run interval it is downright painful!
But then it eases up- like the knee cap moves into the proper location.

I continue with the 30 day fitness challenge- legs- level 2.

Progress is slow, but steady.
